whats the best way to remove dead bugs front your car?

like the title says. the girlfriend took the charger for the weekend and desided to have it washed with wax threw a soft cloth car wash after some night driving . well the end result is i have dead bugs on my front bumper with wax coating over them . now i have to find a way to remove them without killing my car paint. in know she ment well but none the less im still stuck with a problem. removing the bugs and the micro scratches from the soft cloth car wash the car only has 30k on it. need help here guys. thanks.

WD40 and a microfiber to remove bug guts - do this asap, bug guts are acidic

Rotary buffer with a foam pad and swirl remover for the fine scratches

The damage is probably done, but still clean it off asap. I wouldnt say this has destroyed the paint by any means. Its when paint endures this repeatedly that the clear coat really starts to go to s***.

Spray the whole thing with WD40 and let it soak a while before you start rubbing. WD40 will not damage the paint.

Thankyou very much for the quick responce. I will do it when I get home. I just baught some micro fiber cloths. What's the best way to clean the WD40 off

Just wash it with some dishsoap afterwards and that should take care of the WD40.

WD40 is a good cure-all for many detailing issues.

But for bugs, I like the Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover, and then re-wax...better than the corporate Ford issue bug remover by far...don't ask me how I know that...

Don't start splitting atoms here...you'll be fine....

You need months of bug accumulation to even threaten the clearcoat....

thanks guys not trying to split atoms . just it my 1st new car. and i really dont like car washes for this reason. thanks so much guys for the tip and the replys im going to get on it right away and on my days off i guess it time to get the wheel and the buffer out.

Correct and thats the reason for using it here. WD40 has fish oil in it, and you want a degreasing agent to remove it. Not to say there arent other car washes that wont do the job, but dish soap for sure will.

When I am detailing a car (and plan on finishing with a coat of wax) I will use dish soap. Otherwise I will use traditional car wash soap.

well seems how i have wax over the bugs and im going to clean it up and polish it. would it be better to wash the car with dish soap to strip some of the wax then use the WD40 to remove the dried up bugs. also seems how im going into this what do you guys recomend to clean the engine compartment up.

thanks guys. i gave the car a quick shot of WD40 i didnt let it sit long maybe a minute. i didnt remove much. i will try and let it sit longer. or maybe im looking at wax buildup now from where the bug was.

Wd40 won't damage the finish. Park in a shady spot, spray it on, and wait a while before you start scrubbing. Maybe 15 minutes? Basically just enough time to let the WD work it's magic. If that doesn't work, you could clay bar, but the WD40 is a much less time-consuming, labor-intensive solution to the issue you have.
