Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
I like chamois's myself. I have one I bought for like $10 at Auto Zone called the Absorber I believe. It works nicely and because you soak it before you use it, it does not seem to scratch the paint surface. Maybe someone else has used these?
Maybe I'm one of the few, but I don't like chamois's. I prefer to use a high percentage cotton/fabric blend towel. Doesn't scratch and soaks up water very well. No streaks either.
i think you're supposed to use a clay bar, but i just was my truck every week, sometimes more, and wax it every month or so, never take any wax off, it just comes off in time. but yeah if u want to start with a clean pallet use a clay bar kit. It seemed to work really well on kolins old T/A. Or you could use an automotive paint cleaner. I used to have this stuff my friend got from his Saturn dealership called ACRYSOL or something like that. worked great, but it takes you right down to the clear coat, so you need to wax it right away after using it. and don't ask where to find it, ive looked all over with no luck.
He was asking what you use to buff the wax and polish off once it dries guys.
I use microfiber towels usually, but lately I've had a LOT of success with a really soft cotton bonnet on my porter cable to buff waxes and polishes off.

At least some off us can read.........I use 100% cotton towels too.

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
