  • Did Zaino raise their prices!?!??!

Im just going to stock up on supplies for the season, and i noticed that my tally came up to more than twice what it usually is... granted im buying a bit more. But STILL, I NEVER remember ZFX being $20 a pop or Z2/Z5 being above 10 dollars a bottle. ugh, looks like im going to lose side-job profit this year

So not only is it a lot of work, its now more expensive. Yeah, the more I read about this stuff it looks like its not worth it.

i used to think their product was a great deal... now its on the borderline of where i dont want to buy it. Sad, their prices should be going down with their popularity. Guess us detailers are just going to have to wait for someone to undercut them.

i use anything on my car! pretty much every week when our supplier comes for out "usual" stuff...he always gives us a can/bottle/whatever of something new to try and see if we like it...so i'm always getting free stuff...and whatever i like...my boss starts to buy for me...or the shop anyways and in turn then i use it on my car at the end of the day!....

too bad Zaino upped their prices. i've actually never used it, but everyone else's pics look amazing with it. but i wax my car with all kinds of different brands and types of "waxes" / "sealants" whatever termonolgy you use!

Have you checked Tropi-Care's prices, Joel? I've heard a lot of people praise them over Zaino, so if the price is right it might be worth checking out.

What's so great about Zaino? I have seen the results, but isn't there another line of car care products that gives results that are comparable or even better than Zaino? I'm sure there is. . . probably cheaper and not very well-known. I'll see what I can find. . .

I have not seen anything that compares to Zaino yet. But keep in mind, zaino started out as the revolutionary underdog. With prices like that, they wont hold the throne for long.

never heard of them but ill research it. The dilemma Im facing is that some people I detail *expect* zaino, so i dont have any real choice but to use it. That and the fact that I wont settle for anything less.

                            I don't get your perspective.
If your supplier raised the price, why don't you? Not sure if your Zaino is 1/2 or 1/3 of your pricing, but maybe you could use it as an excuse to raise your labor rates, too.
RFegardles, raise yourprice for this specific product, and let the cusytomer make the decision.
If the customer wants the same look, and wants you to do the work, they can decide to pay thehigher price.
If they want something cheaper, give them that.
Doesn't matter if they know Zaino is what theyre getting, just tell them it's "supplies".

However, if you just tell them you are not going to provide the Zaino look anymore, I'd be ticked (as a customer) if you unilaterally took away my choice.
Let them make the call - you calculate things so you increase your profit - everybody happy, right?

Personally, I think it's underpriced. Once the coats of Polish are on, it's like $15 bucks for almost 15 coats, and the look is hard to beat.

my perspective is that I already quoted 6 people for detailings over spring break. Im not the type of person to call a customer back a few days later and tell them "Sorry sir/madaam, my supplier is bending me over, so I think its justifiable for me to transfer the butt-ache to you"

doesnt work... i have to take the screwing for what i already quoted, then i can raise the prices. smart move on my part not checking prices first? obviously not... but thats why im getting the short end of the stick on this one.

i also wasnt implying that im ditching zaino completely. Its just all ive used, and I know there are some people that would settle for less. I will never entirely wean from zaino until i find a better product.
