whats wrong with my exhaust?

i have jet hot coated pacesetter headers, y pipe and flowmaster muffler. the car sounds good at idle, free revving, and WOT, but everything in between sounds horrible, like a hillbilly truck. what am i missing? should i go with a different muffler or maybe a resonator w/ the muffler?

not sure flowmaster usually sound good. I can relate though, i think my car sounds like a truck also due to the stock cam.

IMHO you are never going to find an exhaust combo that satisfies you 100% on the sound. If you go by sound then my opinion is go with what sounds good at idle.

i wonder if i switch out the flowmaster for a magnaflow if that will make much difference.

the magnaflow should make it a deeper sound and deffenetly flow better than that crapmaster, not sure what sound you are looking for exactly.

Well Dynomax are glass pack which usually sound pretty good. Straight through so it'll be louder than the flowmaster but should be a deeper tone.

yea Flowmasters suck really bad, i have the Magnaflow and have no complaints here

Long tube headers ? I had pacesetter tfx exhaust from summit sounded sweet. Its hangin in the shed due to true duals for now!

damn i always thought flowmasters were decent. im going to have to do some shopping around. and i just got this exhaust put on.

Actually if you take the whole exhaust off and just put a turbo in there itll quiet down.
