  • Exhaust leak

Ever since I put my headers and y-pipe on. The driver side leaks right where the header and y-pipe connect. I've got it as tight as I can get it by hand and I don't think a impact is gonna get it much tighter. It's just a 2 bolt setup if that helps any. I'd really like to know how I can fix this if it's possible without having to cut the end off and putting a 3 bolt setup on.

Does it use a donute type gasket. Can you go down to a parts store and get a "thicker" gasket?

There's no gasket. It's a 2 bolt setup and it's like an elbow piece. This is the set I got. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

The pipe is rounded, so that they can fit into each other at an angel.

I have pics of my setup, just need to upload them to my other comp.

Thats somewhat like the donut gasket that was used on my Edelbrock TES on Monte Carlo.

Have you tried contacting pacesetter about the exhaust leak?

I still think you need a gasket in there.
How about replacing the bolts with one that got more threads on it?

looked at the pictures again. I'm really thinking your missing a gasket because of the lenth of the bolts.
