  • Broken rocker stud!!

So after the TR car show Saturday I was driving my car back and decided to get on it a little and it sounded like it was missing. Today I pulled both of the valve covers off and on one side I found the roller rocker laying there and the locking nut on the other side of the head. I'm guessing it's due to my lash being adjusted wrong and taking the shock it just broke. It's not from the coil bind or a bent rod. Also when I pulled off the valve cover the push rod was sticking up about 3 inches higher than it should've been. The cam threw the lifter out of it's bore but we got it back in so that's good. So friday I'm gonna get some new ARP rocker studs rated to 190,000 psi and hopefully that and the blown out header gaskets and my car will be set to go for a while.

Odd...rocker studs don't break that often...unless something is really wrong in your valvetrain geometry.
