ok heres what im thinking. I want to install the slp 1.85 roller rockers, and if i do it will boost my stock lift to .508 .520 or should i just do the extra work and put a cam in? also once i do this i am going to need a tune correct? right now i am running a slp lid and bellow, Descreened ported and polished maf, hollowed cats with o2sims, and a magna flow cat back.

all you do with rockers is increase the lift though... your durration stays the same... and you get the real extra power from longer durration not just lift...
opening the valves more only does so much for letting more in... keeping them open longer is where the real fun is at, my vote is new cam as wellOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. But it's not exactly street legal, so keep it on the down low.

Yep, stick a cam in it. If you got the funds, you could do a intake and long tubs while your in there. Do it all at once and get a tune one time.http://www.fquick.com/csmith4153

lift has nothing to do with lope, duration and LSA does. The rockers will increase duration but its almost unmeasurable.
If you want a mild cam go with a TR224 114 or a 112 for more lope.
Saying you want something streetable is not a good description. my 246 248 .615 .615 114 cam will idle at 900 with the a/c on and all.

The rockers do increase duration minimally like said above but they also increase the speed of the valve coming on an off the seat. effectively making the engine think it has a bigger cam in it.
I still vote for a cam swap aswell since you have to change valvespring to do the rockers anyway. The GM Hotcam is OK, TR224 is the most popular DD cam IMO, but the GM ASA cam can make similar power even with its moderate lift of .525CraigSemi Retired Street Racer2012 Lava Red Mustang GT 5.0 MT82GONE BUT NOT FORGOTEN

You might want to look into headers before a cam swap.-Joel

the tr224 or tr224/230 is way more drivable than either of the gm cams. the overlap of the hotcam and ASA's make them idle rough, very rough.
the tr224 is the most common cam made. It is actually small by todays standards but for a DD I still recommend it. I put about 20k on my car when I had it. went 12.28 with 4.11 gears and a ls1 intake. gas mileage was still great
