I'll dig up pictures of Red Alert's twin brother. Grant was putting side exhaust on Epic.

Edit: Can't find any finished pics, so I dunno if he finished it or not, but here's a pic of what he was going to do:

I have the side exhaust. True dual from the headers to cats & mufflers then off the sides. It looks sweet, sounds sweet (especially if you're next to a car you can really hear the rumble of yourself ). The one HUGE downfall is clearance. It seems that side exhaust has horrible clearance issues. Mine clears the ground by about 2-3 inches. I'm sure you could probably get it to more like 3-4 if you spend a lot of time and use plenty of heat shields.

If you're not too worried about clearance, then definitely go for it! The sound is great, the look is sweet (since you dont see many with them). Just be weary about going up driveways that have a nice little incline off the road, no more automatic car washes (unless they're touchless). If mine was done properly, I would probably keep it, but since it wasnt I'm thinking about redoing it and actually running it out the back...that or dumping before the axle. Let me know if you have any specific questions...

Ran across this thread over on LS1tech. There are some good pics on the first page. They have some boom tubes and it looks sweet! Would be cool to integrate that into the ground effects as long as it was not too loud in the cabin.

Also, I should add that I tightened up the rear hangers a bit to give another half inch or so clearance. Plus a big addon were Air Lift Drag Bags. Basically there little air bags that go inside the springs to help out a bit...and damn do they help! I got an extra half inch to 3/4 inch clearance, plus the ride is much better now. It takes bumps and such much better, and even with a passenger (which used to be a problem hitting larger dips and such causing bottoming out) and havnt had any problems left. They are definitely a must have if you have clearance issues. Plus you can set each bag a separate pressure so you can set the right side to about 35 PSI and the left to about 5-10 while at the track and supposedly it helps out a great deal with launch. Have yet to test this out, but I've heard great things about it. Only $80 shipped. They definitely get an A+ from me! Plus, they only took about half hour each side to install, route the tubes, and pressurize them!
