  • final exhaust mod

Hey guys Im thinking of doing a final exahsut mod. To check my current setup go to my garage. Im thinking about taking the 2.5in pipe i have where my cat was and the stock s-pipe off and puting on a 3in pipe in that area form my y-pipe to my Borla catback. My question would this be a benificial mod in gaining a lil bit of xtra power or should i just leave the straght pipe alone and jsut make the s-pipe into 3in? Let me know guys.

I don't think a V6 puts off enough power to be able to appreciate this mod.

You havnent heard of some of the v6s hats makin real power then. There are turbo v6's puttin down 400 and 500 rwhp.

sure there are, but yours is not and that is the point he was making. leave it alone for now as you already have little backpressure from removing the cat and such.

I just figured being that Im up to a cam and what not that tha mod would be beneficial. At least just swaping the s-pipe.

once you are FI or something and pushing tons of air in and out then ya do it, but for just a cam, skip it

i think 2.5" will be too small for a cammed 3.8, however very marginally. Definitely dont bother until you actually have the cam. Itll probably be a difference of 5hp at most even then.

I already have a cam installed. Check my mods guys in the "My Garage" on here. Ive had the cam in since last June along with a HPtuner tune. I get mixed opinins on this last minute exahsut mod. I get people who tell me that go ahead and not to id cuz IM not FI. Then I get people who tell me to do it so that that my exhaust will all be 3in.
