test pipe question

ok arch here for once is wrong **** yeah been waiting for this. removing the catalytic converter(s) ads 0-10hp depending ont he application it can add more. they are highly restrictive making a car breath is all that is needed. if uc an get a car to breath right it will perform. this means no congestion on the inhale aka intake, and none on the exhale means it takes less to make the power. free flowing is hte term used here.

on a car built prior to '90 it gave more power, but anything newr the cats flow very well, and it has been proven there is no hp difference by removing it unless it's clogged. it's just like on the gp's the stock muffler flows as well or better than any aftermarket, but because it's stock everyone thinks it's bad

You will gain something atleast, it may not be a sugnificant gain but it will infact be a gain

if it does produce a gain, its not noticeable.. the biggest thing about it, as said is the sound. i actually like the sound with the exhaust and no cat better than i did just the exhaust. it has a little more rumble at idle and is deeper sounding through the low rpms..

depends on the setup again, many times it just adds rasp, one thing it does do is makes the car illegal if someone wants to be a prick and check (or if MI follows through with teh threats of emmissions testing)

they won't, the federal government will start cutting funding for any state without (they have done it on other things) passing a sniffer test is easy I had it in Atlanta and my car was significantly modified.Most mods that produce good performance will clean up the exhaust when tuned correctly (the ones that fail are usually running rich) the hard part is visual as long as all teh factory type equipment is there they pass it

ha well the thing is my car would never pass.... i have no emissions equiptment left on my car.... lets see.... no cat... Long Tube off-road Headers ... off road y pipe... egr block off... no air pump.... im reading the box from my 30# injectors and they state they are off road use only as well.... etc....(i didnt remove all of my emissions stuff to gain power or anything it just end up happening that way)

my drag car has none (heck it doesn't have wipers even or any heater) I had a car in GA that had headers that were emmisions legal (at least they passed)it takes a litttle more work, but it's not hard to do it legal in most states (cali and a couplke others are tough since you have to have the c.a.r.b. number)

well i havnt got it yet the guy JUST shiped it yesterday and i baught i when i fist posted this . the tracking number sais its still in california so it will be a whyle but when i get it i will tell ya guys what it does for me.
