  • powder coating and Ceramic coating

Hear is the deal. I need to Find A good place to do powder coating .

I also need to find a place that does Ceramic coating .

Well its simple. Parts order is about to start up for my project.I plained on going Stainless Steal for the ot side of my turbo build up for my camaro. The reason whi is that Stainless is good for holding a 57lbs turbo at high heat.

The problem is that stainless is harder to weld . So If Mild steal would be ok for a street set up I would need to have the the steal coated so they want Rust TO HELL. Also coating looks great and helps with heat.

1.SO what i want to no is their a company in that can do some Ceramic coating around MI?

    What will it cost?

2.Is their a company around for powder coating?

    what would it cost?

    3. what one you think i should do for the hot and cold side?

You can buy a powdercoating gun and kit for like $160 i think from summit you just need an oven you dont cook in to cure it.Im sure other places have the same kit.

Not sure if this answers your question, but I can guarantee that the factory turbo set up in my car is NOT stainless, and it's not even coated.

If it was me, I'd probably go ceramic...I'll let the others chime in on who does ceramic...that one I don't know...

Go to Sears. $150 buys you an electric powder coating gun. Then all you need to do is toss it in your stove oven to bake it.

I have one of those, and it's a slightly more complicated than that.

The big thing (stated above) is you need a separate oven to bake it in (that's what I'm missing) as it leaves toxins behind when finished.

Number two is the size of said oven really limits what you can do depending on how you hang/support the part.

So if you have a separate oven and you know the parts will fit, it's a good way to go.

Theres a place called exotic coatings in romulus thats pretty good. I think ceramic coating is expensive as hell. Unless your looking for something pretty just use black header paint, or BBQ grill paint works well as..well.

Is that really worth anything? Other than just adding cost?

I think it makes a few horsepower because it keeps the heat in better or something like that.

You can always send them to Jet Hot, they have the new sterling coating and some coating that can stand up to 2000 degree F, at least that's what they claim.
