  • V6 muffler opinions

I ordered all my camaro inserts a total of $15 bucks, but what i really wanna do now is start getting all my parts together for an exhaust system. I've been looking into different companies, and i was wondering if anyone has ever used the SLP Loudmouth II muffler on a v6. I've heard flowmaster has lots of rasp, and borla is a little expensive, but i've noticed just the bullet style slp muffler for a fair price, and i was jus wondering is it gonna be ungodly loud, or just sound sweet. Any suggestions would be good too.

yeah, I'm catless and yeah it's a little obnoxious sometimes but it's not too bad. I love my Magnaflow exhaust, though. Absolutely love it. Magnaflow is one of the best flowing mufflers on the market. Flowmaster flows the worst for aftermarket.

Word! Magnaflow is nice on my car especially with the longtubes, its a nice deep tone, Flowmasters on a 6'er with no cats is hideous!!!

Messien your car sounds pretty sweet at idle, i just don't want the rasp. I've been looking around the web at websites like fullthrottlev6 and firebirdv6 where there are some sound clips, but alot of them have bad rasp. Yours definatley sounds like something i would like.

My suggestion is to put as quiet a muffler on your car as possible until you get a V8.

im gonna have to go with sayin magnaflow is good too, my brother has headers and magnaflow on his 97 RS, and it sounds pretty good. I went with flopro vforce because it was only 40 bucks to have my dad who owns an exhaust shop weld that on to my existing stock dual setup.

yea yea like everyone said, definitely have to put my vote in for the magnaflow catback setup.

Another decent one is the texas-speed.com rumbler catback however it is a bit louder than a magnaflow

Thanks everyone i think i'm gonna look into magnaflow after hearing meissens car, and hearing some other sound clips. I wish i had a v8 but that's down the road, now that my new garage is heated, i'm looking into buying one from a junkyard and building it at my own pace.

I think that's a good choice, Dale. They sound great on v6s and v8s.
