  • HP Tuners users??

I'm getting ready to purchase HP Tuners. I wanted to know if there is a "back-door" way to get a wide-band output to show up on the standard version versus spending another $150 for the Pro version which this feature is already built in? I know that with my old datalogging software you could back-door it with some creative code changes. Just wanted to know if it was possible with the standard version HPT?

I am a hp tuner user, woot!

I have read somewhere of guys doing it through the egr wires on the 3.8l cars. I will look into it.

Yea I didn't get the pro version unfortunately when I upgraded from serial to the usb mpvi version.

One thing though is that if you want to use the RTT and computerless data-logging you will need the pro version as it is set up to record data when not attached to a laptop where as the standard won't do that.

Yup. do it through EGR or through AC pressure sensor .. or basically any other non-critical 0-5v sensor signal.

You can run the 0-5v signal through the EGR line and create a parameter using the EGR signal. Not the most ideal way to do it.. but it works. Doesnt really matter, all your looking to do is get a 0-5v signal read by the PCM instead of the HP EIO.

I just got the pro version to do multiple O2s

Thanks guys....does it matter if the WBO2 is non-linear then? Is there a conversion that you have to apply to this input?

          You have the LC1 right?

          Thats linear...

But if you do have a non linear input, you can do it with an equation... but i dont think you have a non linear signal.

I have both Dan....the WB that is permently installed in my car actually has a non-linear output....at any rate, looks like I can wire in either one and be fine. Just wanted to make sure before I made my purchase....I just might spring the extra 150 for the Pro version though.

I wouldn;t use the linear EGR input without having all of the calibrateable EGR tables set to zeros first.
