  • Fuel Pressure: School me on it

This winter I am installing my SVO injectors I got, a racetronix 255 kit, and stainless fuel lines.

Since I have to get Steve to re-tune my car for the injectors, should I get an adjustable FPR?
Is there anything to gain with more?

Not really. Increasing fuel pressure can turn your smaller injectors into larger (increasing flow rate) to help dial in, but going with a full tune you shouldn't have to worry. Less stress on the pump as well.

I will say that the Racetronix setup increased the fuel pressure on my 98. It bumped it from 58 psi to well over 60 psi at idle. Closed loop compensated for this but the higher RPM allowed the regulator to maintain 58 psi.

Only reason to get an adjustable regulator is to lower the base pressure back to stock since the pump will probably raise the pressure.

If it's going to be fully tuned - it may or may not matter, ask the guy tuning it.
