    headers

    I'm getting ready to sand blast and reshoot my headers and debating going black again or going the aluminum color - any suggestions?

    What are you shooting them with?
    Currently Owned F-Bodies

    1994 Firebird 3.4L V6 SPI, T5, Black with T-Tops and Leather Interior (Daily Driver)

      ceramic coat them. I love my ceramic coated headers. Last longer than paint too

        Never shot that before.. Do you need special equiptment, or standard paint gun etc?

          I was planning on using rattle can probably Dupli-Color High heat Ceramic.

            My personal preference would be to powdercoat them aluminum.

            Black picks up dirt too quickly IMHO, and I've not seen a foolproof powdercoat chrome that does not deteriorate under high temp conditions.

            edit - Whoops, missed you post by a minute...I'd still go aluminum colored...

              get the cerami-chrome coating, a buddy of mine has had this on his BBC headers since the early 90's and it's JUST now starting to wear off/flake. it's around 150 at this guy in Saginaw to do it. It looks just like the Jet Hot coating...

                my cousin used the duplicolor on his 440 headers this summer, its already flaking off. I would get them ceramic coated. You wont regret it.

                  I used the high heat VHT paint and its still rusting through. You cannot stop the headers from rusting inside out without having them dipped(coated).

                          These are going on a 327 street motor - I was told that I wouldn't want to go much if any bigger due to low end torque loss?

                            It'll be fine for a 327. You could even get by with those on a 383.
