The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. Does the ported throttle body really help out ? I was debating on getting one and just dont want to waste money right now if its nothing special. I also saw on ebay a ported and polished throttle body and new MAF ends. Do the MAF ends do anything extra ? Does anyone local do the throttle body work ? I will eventually just trying to spend wisely for now.

People say that there is like a 3-5hp increase with a ported TB. I doubt its even measurable on the dyno tho. If your looking for strictly bolt ons I would probably do it. Every little bit helps I guess. I had one on my old bolt on car.
The MAF ends are a waste of money IMO. If your going to mess with the MAF your better off going with a FTP 85mm lid and GM 85mm MAF.
Throttle response off idle seemed a bit more responsive to me , but that could aslo be due to the fact that the the cam that the cable is attached to was a bit different as it was a truck TB that was sent to me. other than that.. not really noticable to be honest. was it worth it? on a stock car....no in a cammed car possibly yes.

I picked up a Katech CNC ported unit last year or the year before. Didnt notice a ton difference, but Ive noticed a bit of a difference in off idle and it sorted some driveability issues I had in the <1000rpm area. Cant hurt right?
Correct me if i'm wrong folks. A bigger MAF could possibly hurt performance unless either the sensor is modified or the pcm is tuned for the new volume. Since i'm guessing a bigger maf would cause the air to move slower across the wires , thus not cooling them as much? thats just a guess though

I am planning on a tune next spring, I figure I will do the bolt ons this winter then go see Dr. Phil. I want to get it all figured out then dump the money this fall
