anyway i just need to know what else i gotta do. i know i need new springs but beyond that im pretty lost this is new to me. are roller rockers something that has to be done or are my stockers good? and are my stock pushrods ok? feel free to throw in any other info you think would be helpful. thanks

      advertised vs at 0.050 lift.

      a 224 @ 0.050 advertised is like 290 something.

you can get large durration cams that high or higher at .50 but FI cars dont like them that much mine sounds like its going to stall when at idle because of the durration... you get power outta lift you get crazy power outta the duration... but keeping it stable is another question.. thats why you usaully find one that meets your needs in both areas for the best power
lol took me forever to get mine tuned in and at 1,000 rpm it sounded like maybe 400 rpm of my old cam... like it was just barley running...

Alright i will tell you what i am trying to come up with to do mine.

              Gasket set = must
timing chain set = very highly recomended
some do lifters, i dont think i am but most recomend it
1.6 rockers = not a must but if you have it apart you need these
              head bolts = must
160 thermo = just cause it is apart
lt4 knock module = i dont know if you need it with this cam but prolly
spark plugs tr55's if N/A if not tr6's = cause its apart
headers = cause it is apart. i have a extra set if you are interested
maybe a valve job and some port work = not a must but at least look this

I am sure there is more but thats the basics

Head bolts? why? He's just swapping cams man. Simple job, don't make it more complicated that it has to be.

yeah i got a little confused when he mentioned head bolts anyway so far i got a gasket set, springs, and a timing chain. im gonna skip the lifters and roller rockers. now how about pushrods? and i wont need the lt4 knock module if i dont get the roller rockers is that right?

You should always check pushrod length when you change a valvetrain component, if you are unsure how, google it, the info is out there. You may need new pushrods or you may not.
