  • Gaskets

Ok my gaskets on my car have finally blew. And I have no fix for this, since the gaskets that came with the headers suck cuz they are made out of paper, and theres really no point in putting those on to have them last 10k miles.

But the problem is that the gaskets that came with the headers are circle shaped, and the stock and all the stock replacements like Fel-pro and all those are oval shaped.. So an oval gasket with a circled header isnt gonna seal up.

And right now i have fel-pros on and i didnt realize that problem until a couple months after when i couldnt get the leak to go away.

So Now my only option is to try to find a company that will trace out the pacesetter gaskets onto a better material. And thats where im stuck at I've tried a few companies and most havent gotten back with me like Gasketman, called him always get answering machine, leave messages, get nothing in return. Then I mapquested the address and it led me to a house. So yea i dunno what the hell is goin on. So if anyone knows of a place that would have the material and machinery to trace that gasket onto plz help me out.

most performance gaskets will be round, fel pro is not a performance gasket company (I rarely use their stuff anymore even on stock rebuilds)

that link didnt work.. but i already tried ordering the pacesetter ones from summit and they sold it as 1 quanity.. and not as a pair so i sent it back and ordered them from Pacesetter and got both for the same price. But i want to find copper ones really.

And you prolly own a V8 I have a 3.8L V6. So no one makes copper gaskets for my car, but they should, they will make a fortune.

it's an exhaust leak, but could it be collector, or y pipe?

to me it sounded like valves clacking.
                        like the lash came loose.
if its an exhaust leak its a big one. my collectors leak a bit but it sounds nothing like that.

no not the y-pipe, that happened to me on Woodward last year, GO figure ruined my day and night for cruis'n. I was pissed. But yea those nutz on the y-pipe bolts came loose a couple times so finally i got fed up with it and had the nutz welded to the bolt so theres no way they are loose plus i checked them.
