  • True Dual Exhaust Questions

More and more I'm wanting to bite the bullet. I found this exhaust setup posted on LS1Tech which I love...

2.5" dynomax bullets are about $50 each, so $100 there...
Magnaflow 2.5 x pipe (stainless steel) is $85...
Already have one cutout, so $50 for another stainless steel cutout pipe
    Magnaflow 2.5 y pipe transition $30

The misc. pipe to connect it all together.

What do you guys think? Anyone with exhaust experience know how much it'd cost to take the above parts to an exhaust shop with the pictures and get it all connected up? The idea is after the cutout that it'd go into the y-pipe transition and feed into the magnaflow muffler I already have. I'm imagining that this would be quiet with the cutout closed and awesome with the cutouts open.

Plus I already have a ypipe they could cut and frankenstein that together if it makes the job any easier.

That is a pretty brilliant design! Slap some e-cutouts on and it would be mint!

That's what I'm saying. I love that when the cutouts are opened you have true duals and when the cutouts are closed you have a normal exhaust system. I only wonder how the y-transition makes the exhaust sound.

Probably close to $400 I would think. GOOD exhaust work isn't cheap.

That is pretty sweet! Would be really interesting to see how it sounds closed.

Anybody else notice how sketch the jackstands are on that car?!

It will definitely alter (muffle) the sound of the catback... You experience this with a single cutout

Thats what I thought, but in the other picture its on ramps too. I think the jackstands might have been to old the exhaust up.

It'd need something to direct the exhaust away from the rear end. 10 bolts suck as it is - they don't need your exhaust boiling the fluid.

I think I've made up my mind to do it - unfortunately it'll take me awhile to save up enough $$ to get each of the parts and then get it all done. Probably won't be until the very end of summer if not next year before I can get it done.

That is a slick set-up plus you would have the best of both worlds.
