  • 2 out of 4 02 error codes

I have been having this problem since last season, my car seems to be loading up on fuel and then it dies and I have a hard time getting it to restart. I connected a friends cheap code scanner from wal mart and it is giving me error codes for the Bank 1 Sensor 2, and Bank 2 Sensor 2. Could this be my problem or should I keep digging for the problem elsewhere? Thank you in advance.

The rear o2's and evap are supposed to be getting tuned out. When Steve gets a chance to do it.

Right but I guess my question is, with the lack of rear o2's would that cause the symptoms I am experiencing. I appreciate any knowledge you way share. I'm just trying to get this figured out.

We (as a forum) are diagnosing a 1995 Firebird that is doing the same thing. A couple collaborative tunes later and the problem still exists.

I would get someone to data log or have steve data log. front O2 will cause that problem. but so will other things. is car running good not misfiring etc.

When car first fires up it will run good for 10-60min before it develops an issue

DTC P0140 Oxygen sensor Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 1 Sensor 2
Basically, the PCM is supposed to see varied voltage between 10mV and 1000mv. If it sits between 390-491mV the DTC is set.
So your rear left O2 might not be reading correctly. A scantool that monitors the voltage would greatly help you.

DTC P0160 Oxygen sensor Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 2 Sensor 2
                    Same, but right side.

Two recommendations - inspect all wiring connections, and do a contiunity test from the PCM to the sensors. Check for breaks in wires etc. If all ok, replace.
                    (Or turn off)

DTC P0441 EVAP System No Flow During Purge
                    Welcome to EVAP system hell.
Evap vacuum switch isn't seeing vacuum upon a commanded EVAP purge event.
Check vacuum hose connections of EVAP system components and check wiring.

Can the Evap circuit be tuned out of the computer with the rear 02's?

Yup - Steve can tune out the EGR, EVAP, AIR pump, and rear o2s.
