  • can anyone here delete my cats for me?

well i put my car up on my cousins hoist today and found that my rattling problem is nothing to do with my throwout bearing whatsoever (THANK GOD) rather its my driver's side cat. Soooo, im going to be doing one of two things: 1) take it back to the guy that welded it and get a new one... except probably swap them out for the bullet race cats this time or 2) find somebody to delete the cats from my custom y-pipe, since the guy that made it for me wont do it. (if it matters my y-pipe is made out of 2.5" aluminized i believe. if you can do it, feel free to PM me a price.)

Ever since i got the y-pipe done though ive wished it was louder and i seem to leave my cutout open pretty much 24/7. whats most upsetting though is that these cats/y-pipe are brand new, i just had it done this spring. im thinking the opportunity for a change is knocking here. either way though, i think im going to give my guy a chance to backup his work though... who knows, i might get race cats for free or something.

thanks man, i appreciate it. but yea, if i do ditch the cats its gonna be to save money... If i wasnt so tight on it right now id definitely get bullet cats considering i went through the work of putting on emissions longtubes lol Im gonna call the other guy tomorrow morning and see what he can do for me, so i can weigh my options.

i didnt want to tear my emissions equipment out... still not going to, and i wanted the car to be legal. i also think LT1s sound better with cats... i have in fact gotten a lot of compliments on the sound of mine, i just think its too quiet. i might still be going with the bullet cats yet.

alright update: I just called the guy that did the y-pipe and he said he for sure cant do anything for me this week because of the dream cruise (figures). he also wouldnt do anything for me over the phone, said i would have to bring it in and he'd give me his opinion, and if he thinks its bad he has to talk to the company to see if theyll warranty it. either way it sounds like i wouldnt end up with high-flows. so im done with em, theyre getting cut.

This guy say he'd cut your cats?

It's an impossibly big fine for the owner of the car, it's an EXTREME fine for the shop, as in the $250,000 range.

Unless you and this exhaust shop guy are blood brothers, he probably won't hack your cats.

                          amen to that!

I cut the cat right away when I got my car. No, im not going to pay a bunch of extra money and put a bunch of extra hassle and create more pain working on my car trying to keep my "exhaust" clean.

I'll be dead before the air goes bad!

im the one that put the cats on the car in the first place.... they technically wouldnt pass emissions anyway=, they arent factory location. it was my fault literally wasting $160 on cats in the first place since they are only two months old and one is falling apart already. it sounds like its going to be a nightmare to warranty it, so im just correcting my mistake of keeping cats in the first place

If you dont have cats, you dont need AIR.

take off the pump and the fittings off the headers and save yourself some pain, make it look cleaner too!
