I'm putting a fuel cell into my '79 Camaro and I'm wondering where the best place to route the vent is. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

When you do a vent for a cell, it needs to go straight up, maybe put a few coils in it, then back down through the trunk floor. The coils should be horizantal so no liquid could collect in them. Realize that for the most part, when the car is running, the vent is used to bring air into the cell to displace the gas being removed by the pump. When the car is shut off, the vent will allow any vapor pressure to escape to the atmosphere. If the vent line goes up, its a lot harder for liquid gas to make it out.When in doubt, Whip it out !Comment

When I did my fuel cell in the 85 Regal I had,I used a -6 line made a small loop zip tied it and straight down through the hole with a rubber gromet exiting outside the vehicle..Comment

Thats how I did mine in the Valiant. Up, did a 180, and went straight down through the floor. Eric L

Thanks folks! That'll work just fine. I didn't want to run it straight to the engine bay or anything. Seemed like a waste of hose, time, etc. I'll do the coil thing and throw a grommet on there. Thanks for the direction. I'm attacking a lot of things at once on the car (body, paint, entire fuel system, carb setup and air intake revamp) and probably had a pretty bad brain fart with it.sigpic
