  • 39# injectors too much for my cammed ls1

was talking with my builder today and he says my current stock injectors will need to replaced before tuning with bigger ones which i knew was something that may need to be done. he told me of a company in georgia that will rebuild my stock 28s and make them 39# injectors and at a very good price. question is will that be too much? i know ill never need that much fuel without going boosted but for the price it cant hurt, can it. tuner should be able to work with it??

whats a good price? you can get 42lb injectors off ls1tech anywhere from $150-200 at a pretty often keel. so i guess thatd have to be up to you, a bigger injector is fine as long as its tuned right away.

I have stock injectors and I'm fine. They go to 101% duty cycle WOT and revved high, but they keep the mix at a cool 12.1

          You have a 98 too.

why would you want them to go over 100% duty cycle? seems silly to me and that is something that needs to be upgraded.

              the number isnt real.
if you can add more fuel they are obviously not already wide open

that size is fine. tuned right away as in not even gonna start it , right?

those injectors will be fine, just have it tuned for them before starting it as Larry mentioned, otherwise you'll ruin your brand new motor.

101% duty cycle just means the injector has gone or is near a static condition...ie....constant on.

All depends on duty cycle - a fuel injector that stays real low too often isn't going to run well from what I've understood.
