  • Borla vs. Hooker Cat Back

I figure this topic has been run down before, but I wanted to get any recent experience also. The "best" exhaust obviously depends on personal preference and your end goal. However, please share any good/bad experience you've had with the following

    1) 4th Gen Hooker Cat Back System
    2) 4th Borla Cat Back System
    3) Other (if you want)

I'm looking for a system that sounds nearly stock at idle, but has a nice growl once you tip in a bit. I'd prefer not to piss off the neighbors too much though. Obviously, power gain is a priority (when is it not?).

    Thanks for any insight.

I have a thirdgen Hooker catback (pretty much same thing as 4th).

From what I hear the Aerochamber is a good flowing muffler. Its pretty mellow at idle, has a deep rumbly sound but not obnoxious like a straight thru. When you stand on it it loudens up quick and has a really nice sound.

Nothing better than a GMMG Chambered Exhaust.

Hookers sound pretty mellow at idle, but yeah they liven up when you get on them.

          It does sound great.

          It also costs a lot.

            Isn't Borla alittle pricey too?

Yeah its out there. All stainless. From what I remember it has plates you can change out to change the loudness, too.

i have the borla system hooked up to my kooks headers and i absolutely love the low chug that i get from it. its not obnoxiously loud by any means but still gets loud by simply applying a little more pressure to the pedal. the only problem was getting that y pipe to fit correctly, had to kinda do the custom fit thing.
