  • Exhaust Shops

Wow this is awesome every custom exhaust shop I've called soon as I say true dual and 95 Z28 they just say no thank you. They won't even give me a price.

Even around here, exhaust shops have gone so basic its rare when you can find a real craftsman willing to do some custom work.

      You even called S&K?

One last suggestion: there was a shop in Madison Heights on John R just north of 11 Mile called Correct Car Care that advertised custom exhaust work. Last time I had anything done there, their exhaust guru's name was "Joe Mama."

call a real speed shop, they will do it. I'd highly recommend Stenod performance in Troy.

I've been working on fitting my own 3in x system so far I can get the X pipe a pop can height off the ground, but my neighbor hasn't had time to weld it up so its getting annoying.

Maybe because it is illegal.. And by the time they mess around getting it to fit right they don't even make money on it tying the bay up all day just to get everything done right. If you think you can get 3" over the axle without rattles good luck.

You and I typically see eye-to-eye on business related matters but not here. Its perfectly legal for a shop to do "off-road" work as long as its signed off. And "messing around getting it to fit right" is what exhaust shops are supposed to do. If you don't think you're making enough money you raise your price. Jay made money on mine. I even tried several times to tip him for not giving me the BS other shops do and he wouldnt take it.

As for getting 3" over the axle without rattles. Watch me. Ive never done exhaust work in my life and I guarantee I will get it first try when I buy my welder. In any case TJ isnt going over the axle.

Also as soon as i do get my welder I will be glad to help people out with jobs like these.

I have a welder its just at my dads. I have never welded I need to learn though haha. Correct I am not running over the axle, but as I told Muffler Man its my "track car" same thing when I got my car tinted out "its my show car".

A shop around here I called for shits and giggles and they said 400 - 600 to do it. Hahaha. I'm gonna get mine to fit its just hard when my neighbor has been busy and I can't get him to weld anything.

Welding exhaust tubing is very easy because it's sorta-kinda thick-ish.
