  • Need some Ideas...

Ok, Ive got the stock LT1, want to know first recommended hp increasers. And at what point will my bolt ons start needing me to start tricking the computer (metered air..etc.) Would it be a good idea to chip it first?

headers/exhaust is probably the best bang for the buck... is it a stick or auto? lots of guys will tell you to throw a higher stall in if it is an auto.

you really SHOULD mod the computer as you mod the engine. headers and exhaust are generally a good place to start

The programmer will allow you to change settings in the tune but it's not for the faint of heart.

Is it an auto or a manual?

Regardless of auto or manual I'd do headers, catback exhaust, and a cutout for the fun effect.

If it's an auto, add a higher stall torque converter onto it and you'll be really happy.

CAI (Cold Air Intake) SLP, K&N, Moroso....
Catback exhaust (any kit other then Flowmasters that use an 80 series muffler) Or a Cutout (not a big fan of these myself).
              Headers Long Tubes (LT's)
The engine is an Airpump getting air in and out more efficiently will help it make more power.
