Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

iam doing a cam swap on a 2006 trailblazer ss and i just need to know a few things before i take it on
1#what is the biggest cam i can go without doing heads and intake or injectors
2# what size valve springs ishould go with
3# and anything else ishould know
i have done acam swap with heads on my lt1 motor so ijust want to experience the Ls motor
that is very vague and there are a million different cams you could run without flycutting. If the truck has stock heads and intake no sense in going an more than a mid 220s with lower lift like below. 600 I would do lots of research and go with a nice reputable off the self grind and springs and pushrods to match. Most shops will sell the entire thing as a package deal.
Give us a call at the shop. Tell us what you want to achieve and we can give you some ideas. We will even get you the best deal on your parts and we can do the install and tune for you if needed. 810.412.5198 ask for Mark or Stan

Better order a big converter while your at it. Not only will your truck be a complete slug without one but it will want to push through the brakes which isn't very safe.
If you're gonna do a converter in one of these then you should probably get a built trans first or at least a tranny cooler and upgrade the servos. I'm on my 3rd TBSS now and am on the forums all the time. The trans is like the 10 bolt in the fbody, pretty much any mods you do are gonna eventually blow the trans. I blew my last tranny with just a tune/exhaust and intake. The forum myself and a lot of locals are on is tbssowners.com you should find a lot of good info there.

If you could pull it off that would no doubt be the best way to go, the weight of the truck is what kills those transmissions I'd guess because fbodys can run them well into the 9s

correct. And the weight of the vehicle is also a reason you shouldn't use a huge cam in that thing. You need torque to get that behemoth moving.
