You'll be hard-pressed to find a set of coated LT headers for $300-$400. I paid $425 for my non-coated Pacesetter LT's and ORY. You might find the ebay ones for that price without a y-pipe, I've heard good things about those. Are you looking to do full exhaust, or just headers?

I do NOT want a Ypipe

Just Headers, then I have tons of Stainless steel 2 1/2 pipes So i can bend those and they will be going to some sort of mufflers.
sadly enough, my dumbass listened to my dad and paid 650 for my BBK shortys a few years ago.....

Your going to hear... Pacesetters or Hookers mainly. Brian will chime in with LPP's then everyone will rag and say no on those... Just look for a good deal out there man they can be had.

My Pacesetters have 3" outlets, so you'll need a step-down pipe to make it work, but it shouldn't be too hard to do. Just make sure you realize how much ground clearance you're going to lose. . . lol

FOr pacesetter LTs make sure you put in new motor mounts. if you want a hand lemme know ive done about 10 or 15 sets so between the two of us could prolly knock it out in about an hour or two lol. but pacesetter LTs FTW!!!

I think hookers are a little better flowing but pacesetters or cheaper and the price is not worth how much pay for a set of hookers from what ive seen

Sorry i cannot, there is NO exhaust on the car at all right now, I may put my BBK's back on till there sold.
I need tubes ASAP this month.

So pacesetters work better then LPP?? my dad swears up and down LPP but he also had me get Bbk shortys with emissions cause he thought lt1 need emissions to run lol

thanks but i just did new ones 2 years ago or 3000miles ago lol

I wouldn't mind a hand installing the headers, i know the drivers side go's from the top and the passenger side go's in from the bottom with shortys should be the same with long tubes right?

steve 3000 miles or two years will sag enough and they will hit the floor pan. i would suggest spending the extra 30-40 bucks and get new ones. and when i did all the other ones they both went in through the top.

This is the longer version of what I told Steve's dad last night when he called me - the LPP's got a really bad reputation for all the wrong reasons. Their headers were designed to fit snug against your car for maximum ground clearance with the 3" dia. The problem with headers is that there are WAY MORE factors to your clearance than people realize. Your intermediate pipe will affect how much clearance you have from the headers to the k-frame as will your motor mounts and transmission mounts.

A handful of people had to bend primaries, grind down the yolk for the steering, or cut the pinch weld on the passenger side of the k-frame. Of course, the people who had those type of problems are going to be 1000x more vocal about their problems than the people who installed them and had no issues.

I installed my LPP headers twice - the first time, my motor mounts and transmission mounts were 100% brand new and I had tons of clearance. When I spun the bearings, I obviously had to rip everything out and reinstall it once the motor was rebuilt. The 2nd time around, I had about 1/8th inch of clearance. My mounts were no longer brand new polyurathane - they had 80 miles on them - they had more give to it so my engine/trans sagged more towards the middle of the car thus removing the clearance. When I was installing the intermediate pipe into my y-pipe, I noticed it helped clearance a lot. Remember - your clearance for your headers is 100% a factor of angles... the more your engine leans back the less clearance you're going to have from the headers to the kframe. You'll have more clearance from the floorboards though because your y-pipe will be angled down...

That said - go stainless or go home. Get LPPs. The new batch/design is supposedly much better. I bought the last of the 1st design batch and I have no regrets what-so-ever.
