  • how to install copper header gaskets

got some copper exhaust manifold gaskets and im trying to install my headers. on one side of the copper gasket there is a raised ring that either goes to the head side or the header side. i cant seem to figure which is right. i can line the bolt holes up but if you switch headers and flip the gasket it fits there too. so question is. does the raised ring go against the head or the header??? thanks

also ive read people using copper sealant with the copper gaskets, and some dont. is this necessary?

Why are you using copper? I have never even seen or heard of a stock GM MLS exhaust manifold gasket leaking...
