  • Pulled the trigger on a Magnaflow today

I was supposed to have 4 days off this weekend but that's not happening. Worked Friday and today and will be in Monday.
My wife got the CETA out of storage yesterday while I was at work. She pulled it out of the shop and gave it a bath before I got home. We took it for a drive into Flint and I made up my mind I HAVE to get rid of the Flowmaster... Way to brassie/tinny sounding for my tastes. I figured, with all of this O.T. I am working, I can afford to build the exhaust the way i want it so I orded a Magnaflow muffler from Jegs and will up grade the mid-pipe to a 3" over the axle. I will try to get the work done next weekend and I'll let you know how it turns out.

Good choice, I love my Magnaflow. A very powerful sound that's not overwhelming on long trips.

Magnaflow has the best sound IMO. I wish I had a magnaflow setup on my car!!!

Wow! What a difference! The guys at the muffler shop couldn't believe how much better the LS1 sounds with the Magnaflow. No more popping back through the muffler and no more insane racket when I step on the throttle! The car now has a low throaty rumble to it which I think fits the car much better. It sounds more "sophisticated" then the brassie sounding Flowmaster. I am very happy with the sound.
We found a broken trans mount while the car was on the hoist so I will be fixing that shortly. Does anyone recommend a poly mount over stock rubber?
I also worked on the car a bit this afternoon and got the SLP lid installed. Did a little cleaning in the engine compartment and will be picking up some stainless screws and such to clean up the rusty fasteners.

How much did the muffler cost you? Any video's of it?

i went through 4 rubber ones last year, and finally bought a polly and never had to worry about it again, i am a m6 also.. you will feel alittle bit more vibration but it was worth it to me, i hated changing a trans mount every-time i stepped on it! i say do it.

Which tips did you get? Get the solid mounts unless you want vibration from the poly
