  • New Dynomax catback

Hi everyone, I just started a new job with Tenneco Automotive and I was brosing our Dynomax catalog when I spotted the new bullet catback for fourth gen camaro firebird. Immediatly I wanted to try it out on my car. By the way my car is an 82 TA. Obviously not made for my car but I called one of the exhaust engineers and he asked if I would like to try and adapt the system to my car, of course I said hell yes. Anyway the system will arrive shortly and I will post pics and tell ya'll how it goes. The system is currently available for you fourth gen guys and I think it will sound bad ass. By the way the system is loud and is supposed to be used on racecars but hey when it sais off-road use only your gonna want to install it on your street car.

From the pics it just looks like straight pipes with a Y so it has dual tips. Am I missing seeing the muffler?

The muffler is way up where it connects to the cat it looks like. The bullet muffler looks kinda like a glasspack, but its not. Its really really loud and basicly sounds like open headers its nice

looks very similar to the Loudmouth, should sound good on stock manifolds and wicked with headers and no cats.

I have that setup on my t/a. It was originally an slp loudmouth but the resonator was replaced with a dynomax bullet (coined dynomouth). The tsp rumbler is an identical setup as well. I absolutely love the setup. Loud and mean with lts and ory . Also sounded awesome stock. It basically is as loud as an open y but w/ a lot less rasp.

            I def think it's a cool setup.

Btw, if you look through the muffler, there is like nothing in the inside, looks like a straight pipe through the inside so you know there is no restriction.

Go with the truck staxx. Use them as side pipes. Plenty of flow for you.

the system installed with minimal modifications. I also rebuilt the y pipe with mandrel bends. It is very loud when you step on the loud pedal but it is pretty quiet at idle and cruise. The things I don't like are the SS tips and I get a glass pac rasp when rpms exceed 3500. Other than that I love it and I can actually hear what my engine is doing while I drive. I have pics that I will upload soon

3rd and fourth gens are almost identicle when it comes to exhaust routing BTW (intermediate pipe and on back). What he has is a departure from the norm...but not too much.

Decided it was time to improve on the old system.

Here is the new Front Pipes. I used 2.5in 409 SS pipe and did things just a little differently.
