Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

So after i put my new headers in i keep getting a tapping sound from under the car from the y-pipe directly after the drivers side header. It comes with a dip in the y-pipe for that issue but it still tapps it...do they make anything like a pad or anything that will make the tapping go away or at least not be so annoying?

thats is why you pay a bit more for quality headers and not the ebay hit or miss junk. The best way to cure it is try and actually bend the y-pipe a bit or you can try to jam a piece of rubber hose in there or a clamp could work as Vinnie mentioned.

This is a very common problem. first, heat up the header with a torch ahead of the collector and hang your weight on it. You might be able to massage it down some.
If that doesnt work, do what i did and take a floor jack to your floor board. bend it up a tad, but only a half inch or so. dont do any more than that or you will notice it in the car. It may sound ghetto but it works.

i doubt they are cheapies. its a common problem with MOST headers for LT1s. The only ones i know of that dont have that problem are Hooker/Jet Hots, and thats because they hang a good 2" lower - which you wouldnt be any better off with. I had the same issue with pacesetters and that is considered a trusted header.
