Finally got LT's, ORY, and an LS6 intake, install now or middle of summer?

I am really dreading installing the poly motor mounts.

I am going to fab up some block off plates at school on Friday, 18 or 20 gauge steel should be okay right? Will I need some type of gasket for these?

Yeah motor mounts are a PITA, but it does help to have the heads, intake, and cooling system completely out of the car.

Remember you have to knock the fins off the bottom of the intake unless you have the LS6 coolant tubes/plugs.

Yes, you should cut some exhaust gasket material for your header block off plates... otherwise they will leak

i have a quarter under my egr blockoff with no gasket and shes gravey lol


does that oil pit have a lift? ive always used stock manifold bolts for the headers but just use some thread locker because ive had the bolts come loose on more then a few occasions

Thanks for the heads up on the intake. I was unaware of that.

The oil pit doesnt have a lift, its man made, about 4 feet deep, 3 feet wide and 8 feet long.

Any type of gasket material be okay?

Ordered some parts today.

Edelbrock O2 extentions.... $25 for both
Header gaskets (dont remember brand, maybe Mr. Gasket?) $20
Felpro Intake gaskets $25

Do these seem like good prices?

Where can I get some poly engine mounts? I also made about 10 or so block off plates for the headers. 18-22 guage should be ok right?

Bringing it out tuesday to start working on it.

our sponser cs3 and get you the trans and motor mounts. The blockoff plates seem very thin. The ones you buy are 3/16 to 1/4 in thick. Remember your dealing with 1500 degrees.

I already have a poly trans mount. Also have a member that might have engine mounts.
as for block of plates ill stack 4 or so up. thanks for the heads up.

I am bringing the car home tomorrow.

I have to get different o2 extensions because he thought I was getting them for my 93 ... Not that it really matters cause when I went to pick up the parts I told him they were wrong so I didn't really waste time... I think I will end up ordering some from Texas speed... They have the cheapest so far at $20 each for 19".

For the rear o2's can I just unplug them or tape them off until I get the car tuned? I don't want to spend 100 bucks on sims that is crazy. I won't effect anything if I disconnect them or tape them off for a month will it? Other than throw a code?

Just unplug them.

Yeah all the rear O2's do is monitor catalytic converter efficiency. They don't do anything to affect A/F ratio. I would just scan it and clear the codes every now and then until you get a tune for the big things.

Good luck! I think i would rater work in my driveway than an oil change pit. Ive worked in one before not alot of room.
Just get some jack stands and jack her up as high as u can.
