  • PerformancePac... need help buying.

I came across this website and saw this...
    http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=28023

Is it worth it? Am I getting a good deal? How much would it cost to have this stuff installed? Thanks!

I have the smooth bellows which you can have for free and the exhaust you can probably pick up used for $250 or less or I'd sell you mine for $150 if I could find something else. Lids only cost $100 and that is all you need the CAI is only $100 if you really want it or you can just cut your lower airbox for free. Don't buy it.

Lol. Wow. I just made the transfer today from my bank account, but luckily I didn't pay yet.

DetroitMuscle, you can help me? I can pay you. My car is bone stock performance wise and I'm looking to add stuff on.

Have a $2000 limit, but I don't really want to spend more than $1000 right now.

Sure I can help you out, if you really want he cold air intake you can buy that or just cut the bottom area on the underside of your airbox to let in more air. I'll look around and find you links to the parts you'll need and even help you install them if youd like you seem to be close to me.

Ordering all on the same parts on Speed Incs site comes out to 647.39 without the smooth bellows which I have just lying around that you can have. Order from them if those are the parts you want and I can help you install it all. If you check LS1tech in the for sale section you could probably find some of these parts for much cheaper.

Jeff's right, ordering any type of SLP package from just about any vendor and you're gonna overpay big time. You can pick up a lid for around $100, and I wouldn't even mess with the CAI. When I had my trans cooler installed, the best place to mount for the most amount of air was right in front of the radiator. In order to put the trans cooler there I had to remove my CAI. Keeping my trans cool is way more important than trying to shave that .1 off of my quarter mile time.

Cut the bottom of the air lid tray and you'll be all set. Also, if you ever plan on headers and ORY you may dislike the sound of your loudmouth. Most guys do (including myself).

DETROITMUSCLES car sounds bad ass with his LM because of his heads/cam/intake combo.

Be sure to carefully plan out your mods, and remember, you'll never stop modding when you say you will.

            Good luck and happy modding.

BTW, save your money on the K+N filter, the paper ones are just as good and you don't have to worry about the filter oil messing with your MAF...speaking of MAFs, your stock one is good for around 500rwhp. Bigger or ported/descreened MAFs are good for about 5-10rwhp in some cases, and some serious detonation and lean fueling problems in many others, I'd stay away from them.

As far as installation goes, basic hand tools and about 5 hours if you're a beginner for the entire package. I wouldn't pay anybody to have any of this installed except for maybe the exhaust if you wanted it all welded. Even then I'd get everything clamped and drive to a shop and pay 75 for a few welds.

Thanks for all the inputs. Is MagnaFlow any good for an LS1?
