What is a good average intake air temp that you would want to have? Ideally It would be ambient air temperature correct? I know it will very from car to car intake set up and what not. But the other day I was out cruising around and stopped by my shop. I hooked up my scanner and had intake temp of 110 degrees. That seams a little high, plus It doesn’t help that I think the intake tube is getting heat soaked from the upper rad hose being right under the intake tube. Any input would be great tks

Good point I'll check it going down the road and see what it reads. I went up to the shop and scaned it for faults and started to look around at the data...but like you said it should go down as I go down the road. Tks

For what it's worth - assuming that the LT1 isn't THAT different, I just played back my DataMaster log from two nights ago. At idle, my IA Temp was 101*F, after 15 minutes of driving my IA Temp went down to 82.9, then as I idled in the driveway it krept up to 104.5.- Brian Meissen

interesting, so the question here would be if best power is at 57* would it be worth ducting A/C air to intake an would you gain enough to offset A/C being used?.sigpic

So I finally had a chance to go run around with my scanner in the car and see what intake temps are at. Idle or traffic it ranges from 110 to 120 degrees. So I thought I’ll drive it down some open roads and see if it goes down ……..ya right to about 95-100 cruising on this cool day. So I think I need to redesign my intake/ upper radiator hose design. Thanks guys for some caparisons specs.
