it's for the EGR, or AIR,

right below on the right you should see where another hose that looks like that one coming from it

hard to explain. I'll take pictures if i can in time!

Aha Thats the name of it!!! I keep getting those two mixed up. Follow the intake back to the manifold and you'll see it should be on the left side. look for Wires running into the intake tubing.

I'm pretty sure it's the right side if it's LS1

If its a 98 or 99, you will not have anything to connect that hose to. I believe that is a modification that was made on the LS1 in 00'.

Nope.. there is a difference between 98,99 and possibly early 00' LS1 intake covers and late 00-02 LS1 covers...

                      98-99 possibly 00

That is for the AIR system. I would just take the hose off and plug the hole with a stopper you should be able to get at home depot or whatever. Just make sure your AIR system already has a filter on it.

Here's a picture of my lid on a '02. The small hose does go to the air pump. On early LS1's, just plug the hole in the lid.

That is true, you ordered the 00 and up lid. Its no biggy you just need to block off the hole and your set, dont worry about that tube.
