Need suggestion on my stock exhaust(95 T/A)

Not looking to do headers and such. I just thought
about changing the stock muffler. Which by the way has a nice rumble. Would like to have more though.
What should I do to it? I don't want to spend $$ alot.
Any suggestions? The car is completely stock.

Well I would suggest the SLP loudmouth, its a relatively cheap catback and with stock manifolds sounds great or Borla. Please stay away from flowmaster if you decide to get just a muffler though they don't seem to flow well on f bodys.

Some kind of aftermaket muffler(SLP, Magnaflow etc...) Cut that cats, cheap and good bang for your buck

I like the sound from the flowmaster, but it only flows well on my car because it converted my single exhaust to dual outlets. . . That must make a difference. . . lol I have heard the MagnaFlow, and they sound just as good as the Flowmasters, and they flow better too. I also vote for MagnaFlow or Borla. . . OR GMMG if you are really loaded. . . lol

Go with a Vortex, or a Maagnaflow, they are good mufflers and are not to expensive. Plus they lhave a nice raspy tone too them...

IMO, For the money you can't go wrong with a Flowmaster or Magnaflow. They cost about the same I believe (don't quote me on it though). As Jeff said there is a lot of speculation on the Flowmaster not flowing well. I have not seen any hard evidence of this yet. I put a Flowmaster American Thunder on my '99 last year and love it. It sounds great IMO and isn't overbearing but when I get on it you know its there. It has a nice deep tone to it. Plus the catback kit comes with about 18" of stainless welded on for tips. As far as flow goes, your car is stock, unless you plan to do some major mods and start pushing 500+ hp I really can't imagine its going to be an issue on the Flowmaster. The American thunder is a 3" pipe all the way back to the muffler and the bends have a big radius to them so the pipe's not restrictive. Anyway, just letting you know what I have experienced with my Flowmaster. I've also heard very good things about the Magnaflow.

I have a DYNOMAX CVX system on mine that I am very happy with. Flowmasters are great but they are like A$$holes, everybodys got them. I wanted something that was throaty and sounded good with out breaking the bank. The CVX system fit the bill well. It cost me less than $300 and has been on the car for 5+ years now and still looks good. No signs of rust or corrosion or anything for that matter. If you want to send some cash the GMMG chamber system is the only way to go. And last I checked it was cheaper than a Borla or Corsa system.

I have yet to run into any other fbody's with the American Thunder catback like I have. Everybody is so convinced they don't flow well yet its only a $320 system. I agree with Gary though, GMMG is the way to go if you got the $$. I am extremely satisfied with my Flowmaster, and yes, I will keep defending them, lol.

imho, mufflers restrict too much anyway... cut them and the cats off.. just have the exhaust dump after the collector..

I say run Hooker aero chamber on any LT1.

yea the hooker aero chamber is a nice sounding exhaust for LT1's!

i really like the magnaflow's on LS1 cars. i don't know what they sound like on LT1's though. but magnaflows sound great. Sean (keegorida) car sounds great with just the magnaflow and cut cats!
