  • Surprise "upgrades" on my car!

Started tearing all of the burned components out of my 86 T/A, and noticed the manifolds looked a little strange. Pealed off some melted goo, and theres a nice little tag that says "Hooker"

So I have a set of Hooker headers, an Edelbrock intake, and a set of chrome Edelbrok valve covers with the hold downs. The valve covers look like they will clean up all right, so heres my question.
What does a set of hookers run? What will they do for the overall performance of the car?
How do I identify the intake? Is there a stamp or mark I can use?
What is the easiest way to clean up the intake? Soap? Sandblast? TNT?

Hooker headers start at about $150 and go up from there.

They are a marked performance upgrade over the stock manifolds.

Pull the number off the intake, and run it through the Edelbrock website...but it should have a name on the top of it by the water neck...and it's aluminum, so most any good metal cleaner will work on it...start with a degreaser (Simple Green or similar) and see how much that can get off.

EDIT: Didn't see they were Super Comp headers...very good header...those start at about $275 and go up from there...
