Funny thing is there is no exhaust decibel limit for the State of Michigan.
All you really have to have is a properly functioning muffler.

Hasn't been emissions testing in Michigan since 1996,
So you can pretty much run what you want.
And in regards to a properly functioning muffler.
Any muffling device be it a muffler or resonator is legal AFAIK.

Ya, I'm just saying that I always heard that it was illegal to take a catalytic converter off of a car. So what happens if a cop looks underneath my car and sees mufflers but no cats?

                        I agree.

Additionally, if you're giving a law enforcement individual (politically correct) an opportunity to 'look', you probably have bigger problems....

I'm pretty sure there is a law that there has to be a cat under there or else it wouldn't be illegal for shops to take cats off the car in the first place.

and if there is not a law now I can see one coming in the future with where everyone is going with emmisions and fuel economy standards.......
