Space need between Fuel lines and Exhaust?

Well I was going over my new 96 Formula and the owner before me has put Hooker long tubes and a full 3" exhaust in. Now it kinda flows like the stock just 3". Here is where the problem comes in. The Y-pipe is a 3" off road unknown brand and its sitting real close to my Fuel and brake lines leading to the back of the car. There is 1/8" max between them how close is to close for the lines?

hmm do you have a pic, kind of ironic, kind of related, I just installed hooker LTs and didnt pay attention to my fuel pump hotwire kit and it melted right thorough the wire. As long as its not too close I wouldnt worry. if you search over on camaroz28 you may be able to find some pics of y pipes and how close they sit to the lines

can you move the bracket? alot of duals on ls1's require you to flip the plastic bracket to gain clearance. warm fuel is never good

I noticed this when I installed my pacesetter o/r y pipe. I just put some heat wrap around them... seems to be working good.

Well I tried to get some photo's of it but due to the cold I belive I now need a new car jack its all frozen and looks to be leaking. I will try to get some in the next few days. I think I will just end up trying to see if I can move the plastic clip thing or just some heat wrap on the pipe. Thanks for the info guys.

1/8th inch is way too close....whoever left it like that is a retard.

Try for a one inch airgap between steel fuel lines and headers to prevent heat transfer.
