    Taking the Dive

    Tomorrow i'll be ordering a Texas-Speed cam package...

    TSP 228R Camshaft (112 LSA)
    Comp Cams 918 Spring Kit
    TSP Hardened Pushrods

    Figured it would be nice to get this done while the car is off the road for the winter and I have the cash available. Of course this idea might bite me in the ass when I get it all done and want to take it out while theres still salt all over the roads.

    I was set on the TR224 or one of the TSP 224s for a while. After hearing a lot of people say that they wish they'd have gone bigger while everything was taken apart, I chose the 228R. Should be a fun winter project along with my body kit and hood that i'm putting together. Gonna have a whole new car this summer.

    P.S. Anyone have install tools that I could borrow or rent?

          Nice. I was researching the Texas Speed packages to see what I want in my car. I'm curious to see how it works out for you. Keep us posted.

                Brad, sounds like an awesome plan! As always, keep us in the loop on progress with posts and pictures - then lots of comparison sounds! Before and after, etc.

                        Yeah I bought one and the spring exploded out from the tool and then the tool fell apart so I went to Murrays and rented a tool and that tool didn't have enough "umph" to compress my beehives at all.

                          is this a cam only car? did you look at the ms4 cam? I seen a car in ohio with an ms4 and bolt on's lay down 420rwhp. just my .02

                            Looked at it, but its a MUCH bigger cam than I want in my DD. This one will hopefully give me close to 40rwhp and open up some more after I get an intake and a good tune.
