  • wondering if heads will help?

    hi. my freinds got a 1991 camaro rs with a 305 carbed motor. he was wondering if adding 2.02 by 1.60 with 67cc chamber heads would help at all?

    1994 camaro z28 with t-tops, 5.7LT1, T56, 3.42 posi. CAI, elbow, Airfoil, SFC, STB, pro 5.0, flowmaster cat back. (sold)

    2000 Trans am with t-tops, 5.7LS1, T56, 3.42posi, LT'S, ORY, magnaflow, lid, lingenfelter intake, 3pt SFC, STB, LCA, (current)

    2.02 intake valves on a 305 will not work without some mods....plus once you mod it the valve will be shrouded too much.....stick to a 1.94 valve.

      what about on a 350?

        I've got 2.02 intakes 1.60 exhausts on my new heads (355 c.i)

          gain more top end, but lose a lot of low end plus torque.

          Tell him to save some $$ for that 350 swap.

          That's what I did. If I had heads with all the mods I did to my 305, I'd add about 50hp. 305 heads are a bottle neck for sure.

          But I'll save that money for my 350. It will be money well more spent.

          Whats he looking to do? I can suggest a few Ideas. There's a lot of $$ in my little 305 already. But I can at least swap that into my 350.

                  305 also uses a rather small combustion chamber so most heads will lower compression
