Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

the vid you posted doesnt sound bad at all! ive never heard of that setup.
h-pipe to true duals with borla xr-1? bullets dumped before the axle is the best ive heard on vids, its acctually the only exhaust ive ever liked on a v6 in vids, didnt sound ricey like most v6 exhausts do but gave it definately a unique tone.
That said, I put a stock trans am dual exhaust on my old firebird with a 3 inch high flow bullet cat when I returned it to stock just before I sold it.. it sounded AWESOME, not loud at all at idle, but when giving it some gas it had a nice throaty rumble sound almost like a very modest V8, no rasp at all, i really liked that setup and if I have another v6 that is what it will get.

I like my magnaflow with high flow cat, but i have to admit it does get a high tone at higher rpms. Good luck man.... also one thing i have noticed is that often an exhaust sounds nothing like it does in person. These videos that are posted just don't have the best audio quality you could hope for, but they are good for making comnparisons. I heard an slp exhaust on a 6 and i thought it sounded horribly raspy and loud, but others say they don't have that.
sigpic 2002 Camaro v6: Cobalt metalic blue "Blue Devil"
Alpine cda-9851, 2- RE 6.5" component sets, 1 RE sx15" subwoofer, 1 Alpine MRV 1005d amplifier, Knuconcpets rca's, Memphis audio wiring, and 100 sq ft of FAT MAT extreme... got for 147 db at the windshield before fat mat new numbers soon to come.
That sounds fantastic, but I have to wonder about where all of the sound is coming from. The guy says he has " k and n intake and goerlichs xlerator exhaust". I wonder how much of the sound has to do with the intake versus the exhaust.
Given my near stock v6 camaro with a stock intake and exhaust system, I can hear a whole lot of sound coming from the engine bay versus the exhaust system especially from the inside of the car.
If that sound is truly coming from the exhaust, building an exhaust system using Goerlich components will be the first mod I will do to my car.
redfbird99, I love the sound of the car you are referring to, but the guy also has some head work and cammed it which will also affect the sound of the exhaust.

you sure about the head and cam work? For the car I was thinking I thought it was pretty much bone stock? Its been a while though. It was a green camaro?
Anyway, a K and N intake which may mean just a filter? or the FIPK will NOT effect exhaust noise.. an air intake just provides air to the engine lol it has nothing to do with the engine internally or exhaust in any way, it may cause some sucking or whistling noise in the engine bay. And yes your stock car will make a lot more noise from the engine bay because of the air coming in and engine running vs the highly restrictive stock exhaust, mine even had stock dual exhaust and the engine still was louder inside on my old v6.

It doesn't say it in his video description anywhere, but that video is of the car cammed with head work. For some reason, I can't find the thread on FTV6 that says so, but I'm absolutely sure of it. If I find it, I will post it up.

Regardless of which K&N system he has, you missed my point. What I meant was, doing any modification to the intake of a stock engine's intake system will increase the noise output of the air sucking into the engine. On my Cavalier, changing from the stock airbox over to a cone intake made a TON of noise from the throttle body sucking air into the engine.

Now you got it. Overall, what I was trying to say is that the interior recording of this guy's car could possibly have intake noise in it due to the fact that an aftermarket intake will increase the sound output from the throttle body. I'd like to hear what the car sounds like from the back with about 20-25 feet between the car and the camera. This would eliminate the possibility of intake noise reaching the camera.
