  • best sounding exhaust

I have a 92 camaro rs with a 305tbi and a set of flowtech shorty headers, what do you guys think would be the best sounding muffler. right now I am thinking the flowmaster 80 series but I really havent decided yet

flowmaster, magnaflow, and my favorite borla all sound good. The magnaflow is more like a turbo muffler sound, flowmaster is distinct, and borla is well borla

I have the flowmaster 80 series on my car and so does my brother, they sound pretty good in my opinion, pretty quiet inside the car and everyone outside thinks there is a damn race car comin down the road.

True duals are the only way to go. Bought 2 Dynomax bulletts from Summit and took the car up to Muffler Man on Michigan Ave and John Daly for the 3" H-pipe.

except true duals are illegal on any car built after '75 that didn't come with dual cats, I'd get a better muffler dynomax is junk I've been talking to a few dealers after my fight with the company seems muffler rust out is very common

I had a set of dynomax welded race mufflers on my car for 3 years, during those 3 years I drove through all 3 winters in Michigan and rust was not an issue, when I sold the car the mufflers showed only minor surface rust on the welded areas. I think dynomax is a quality muffer for a great price, watch for rebates if you buy them(you save a ton).

Illegal is a common thrown about term. How many people actually know this and/or obey it? My guess is not a lot. If your state doesn't have emissions testing then it really isn't much of a problem because, hey they just aren't going to look.

but the shop can get in trouble if someone does look (I got a loud exhaust ticket and they checked for federal emmissions really sucked)

its 10 yrs if i remember right, and 100 thousand dollar fine for both the shop and the costomer.
reason why they dont do reciepts on stuff like that.
and u gotta konw someone in the shop for them to do it most of the time. or be refered by someone else.
do to the fact that it is illegal.
sure its a big fine. how often did a cop look under ur car to see if u had cats?

btw ive driven by a bunch of cops since ive had my car back. they dont even look.
and mines kinda loud but i have it dumped towards the ground.
