Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

ive been told a few times is may be a 224 114 im not sure i bought the car with the cam already installed, not sure of a tune on it either. here are some pics of the valve train, and video clips of how it sounds open and closed. the valve train appears to be all stock to me. so my question is which cam can run on a stock valve train?
well FWIW, the "valvetrain" your showing is only really the valvesprings. On ls1's, in a cam swap, your most likely going to re-use factory rocker arms and the pedastils like shown. The valvesprings are hard to tell, they 'could' be 918s, i don't really remember exactly, but i know my beehive 918s closely resembled the stock springs. What your not showing that is crucial is pushrods, oil pump, and timing set. All of which are typically done in a decent sized cam swap. You could technically run any cam pretty much on a stock valvetrain, but the wear and tear will most likely kill off the stock parts. With how a cam is installed, the oil pump and timing chain were most likely upgraded unless they really skimped. I would hope the valvesprings are upgraded and the pushrods, but it sounds like the cam is relatively small so it all could work stock, just not ideal. No way of telling exactly based on sound. IMO, yank that thing, figure out what it is, while your in there check the oil pump and timing set and upgrade if necessary, toss in your cam of choice so you know what it is, and do valvesprings/pushrods if those are proven stock also. Hope this helps!
well how hard is it to pull the valve spring and push rod to check? also how long does it typically take to tear down the front end for the cam? as for replacing the cam and everything else with newer, that will not be happening as i am strapped for cash right now.
What difference is it going to make if you pull it out and find out its really say a 216/220? A lot of work for no apparent goal if you ask me.
my goal is to find out wtf is inside of my motor. that way i will know if i want to up the cam or keep it and what heads to plan on getting and everything else if you catchmy drift. wouldnt you like to know what cam you have in your ls1?

Buy the cam you want and pull that one out. Does your mom still dress you? Why let someone else choose your cam? Its the same thing. No pun intended.
Your suppose to change the valve springs every so often anyways so why worry abut what they are just change them when you add your own cam anyways.
