what would the difference in power be between ported stock heads over the ls6 or even afr 215 heads. I'm looking at $500-$800 for the ported heads. afr heads are around $1500..

I'm actualy thinking of skipping the heads. If I could get 50+ hp with a good cam, headers, ORY, and a tune. I think that would be good. then I could start working on getting it to the ground.

Anybody have a clue as to how much power could be built in this setup.

Jon is making safely over 400 rwhp with just a cam and headers. With his tune it pulls HARD.

I wouldnt mess with heads on an LS1 (assuming not a DD) unless I had high-in-the-sky goals.

If that 400rwhp I'm gonna need to ask for forgiveness. Cause I'm not asking for permission.

Other then the cam, what else do I need to get to swap cam?

if I were you I would do some research on cams, there might be a better option out there that doesnt have as much intake lift (.644 is alot which is kinda hard on the valvetrain). That cam is a TSP Torquer V3 231/234.

keep in mind, he has a TON of hours in tuning this thing, so he will be an upper-end result in comparison to most.

I'm thinking It's going to be in my best interest to have it tuned. Several people have suggested some shops in to metro area that dyno tune. I believe livernois charges 500 for dyno tuning.

Those are some good articles liz. I actualy took a nap in the middle of reading the first one. woke up at the bottom of the page with my finger pushing the scroll down button. I'm going to reread it later when I'm more rested.

Liz what are your tuning plans when your done?
