What brand catalytic converter should i get, cuz the hi-flow one that i have i really dont think its pacesetter like i ordered, cuz i saw the same one at Murrays.. So i think its just a ripoff POS murrays cat, and the built on heat shield on it has already fell off, and the cat kinda rattles a lil bit.

go with a Magnaflow Carsound cat. I have heard good things with this cat. The CatCo cats seem to wear out to fast and are junk (what people at camarov6.com say). When my stock cat goes bad I am going with a Magnaflow carsound cat.

just put a glass pack in the place of it know one will know. high flow cats kinda look like glass packs hehe.

they dynomax's i have are about as long as a cat too. so i mean it owuld replace it perfectly plust give u a lil more throughty of a sound. or just put a pipe in the place of it. my 3.4 was bad ass like that. i know the mods u got and u would benifit a lil more without it at higher RPM. so just go the cheapo way get a shop to do it perm. for like 50-80 bux. or put a glass pack there for 30 plus 15 proly to install it. this way u have MONEY FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION TIM.

Ur feeding the bottle forget the cats. straight pipe. to a muffler then out the back. im not using cats. i cut mine off when i had the 3.4 didnt need it. plus mine was shot to hell. and they sound good as hell wihtout one. i hated my flowmaster 80 tho. it always sounded ricyt hats why i hate flowmaster ingeneral sure they have a wonderful idle for v8's v6's but when u get WOT it gets all clouded and sounds like a rice burner. the mustangs do the same at WOT at around 4 grand it gets ricey. same with my v6.
i went with a K&n Cold air, with a home depot ram air from the nose to the filter. straight pipe to the flowmaster 80 and i noticed alot better performance from the vehicle. plus a tune up every 2-3 oil changes.

I've used dynomax and never had trouble, not to mention it's 100 % legal (they now have if you cut the cat off and someone happens to check the fine is the same as if you were the shop right around $100,000 plus lose the car is that worth $80?)

you don't lose your car or get a $100,000 fine. They will give you a fine and then you have so many days to get one put on and show a judge or however they do that, to show you fixed it.

new legislation that is supposed to go through (was supposed to pass last year) because so many people are doing it they want you treated like a mechanic (I'm licensed as a mechanic so I get all kinds of trouble)and you can run nitrous with one I've done it and seen it done (heck gm has a couple of cars they play with that have cats and nitrous)

yes you can run nitrous with cats im not denying it im saying its better to run it without em. PS in the 60s and 50s did the cars come wiht Cats? i cant remember. btw HOW OFTEN have you had your vehicle checked by a cop? the onlyt ime u have to worry is if they bring back emmisions testing. this one time i got pulled over i left the biggest cloud i started it at a red light let the light go trhough green still spinning, it hit yellow again and i went, no cars. just me on the road sherrif heading on wastenaw pulls a U and tags me. i didnt get in trouble just had to sit in the back of the car for an hour. getting asked thousands of questions i had to clean out their office. aka Comunity service instead of getting busted for Drag racing.( iw as the only fukin gvehicle on the road. and eluding i dont get the eluding part on it but w/e) never checked my vehicle couldnt beleve it was a v6. but with the new setup i still wont get pulled over.

As for the law you are talking about, there is no way they can charge 100,000 dollars for no cat. They will give you a fine and such but not take your car and fine you 100k. That is ridiculous and unheard of. I will have to talk to my dad who owns an exhaust shop and see if he knows anything about this law you speak of. I know there is a law for having cats on cars, but your penalty stuff is way outta this world.

it was supposed to be a federal mandate because of lack of enforcement, and no penalties (wa supposed to keep from federal inspection mandates) sema was fighting it but from what I have been hearing it's going through, the question is who is enforcing it

exactly Tech Inspection at the track if its a street vehicle and u want to run it in the street class should make u have cats. they hardly ever check that stuff. our engines sound ricey at around 4-5k any way. mine sounded it cuz flowmaster jumbles it together. but it only gets ricey way up in RPMS. it wont be too bad for you tho. u dont have a flowmaster. it will be louder. yes. but i miss the rumble(or cough watever u wanna call it) of my 3.4L cant wait till sunday to FIRE UP MY 5.7 get this car running. ill be happy as all hell.
btw still should i go X pipe or should i go Two pipes straight back to the glass packs?
I need your opinions.
BTW RS wheres ur dads shop and how muchw ill he charge me to make me a custom X Pipe exhaust system?

I think I would go X pipe on your exhaust instead of two straight back. X pipes are said to be really good for exhaust.

As for a price of an xpipe exhaust, I am not sure, you would have to call them and get an estimate over the phone for that. Ask for Dan, he is our exhaust guy and could tell ya.

I love magnaflow, that's what I have.. catback exhaust.
