  • HSR Intake

What to you guys think of this intake and the pricing.
    http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=6&pcid=177

Its a little over $600 for the whole intake and fuel rail system. I am looking into a performance intake and the hsr seems like a good bang for the buck. This will be happening next year at least as I will be unemployed in a month...

It's a great performer.....We put one on Zack's 91 Z28 car a few years ago. Pick up a used one...I bought one complete with a distributer for $500 and it came with lots of extra fuel fittings and SS lines.

SWEET!!!, Will I have to retune my chip?, I have a jet chip in there right now?
Other than having to remove my egr and tune the chip so it is never powered up.

Yes you will need a custom PROM burned for it.

Well, would it run with my jet chip I have until I could get a custom burned chip?

              Barely.

              That's a damn good price.

Hell, it's tempting, if I weren't going carbed 383...or LSX...

Well what do you mean by barely?
The reason I ask is cause I would have to take it somewhere to get it tuned cause I do not know how to do chip burning.

Oh, yeah, it'll run, just not super smooth. Might run a little lean, due to the increased airflow.

Looks like we have another internet tuner on our hands here

Times like these I just have to bit my tounge and sign off from these posts.

Jake, if you want to go the HSR route, my advice would be to start spending alot of time reading over on TGO about tuning and PROM burning. It's where alot of us guys started out years ago.....lots of very good info on there and very smart tuners. DOn't go on there just to post newbie questions or they will eat you alive, just use the searches and read. Everything has been covered on there at least once I swear.

Yeah james, I know I need to learn how to do this tunning stuff, But with no extra money right now for all the hardware I can only learn by reading and not actually doing ( I am a hands on type of guy). And for the cam. since the heads are from 1974 as well I am assuming the cam was never changed either. That seems likely just by looking at how this person set this car up.
The engine is a 1974 CMJ 350 from a police impalla.

Oh, I only ask questions when I can't find anything from the search. Hence why my post counts are so low.
