So this weeknd on sunday at 6:00 me and my buddy started a project on his car. Longtube Pacesetter headers. They look beautiful new. Well it took us til 3 in the morning but we got it done. We had a 2 car garage, a 2 ton jack and some jack stands. One car was doing brakes the other ORY and headers. Anyways it was a such a biotch getting the heat shield and exhuast manifolds off. After that we took them, the cats and stock Y pipe off. They were actually NOT bad to put on. We didn't have to take out one of the motor mounts (my buddy is REAL protective of his car, will notice the smallest scratch and will not drive it in rain or snow) and he just decided to do a little smashing under the car and made some room.
We didn't have to take off the coil packs either, just the plugs and wires (broke one spark plug....GRR) Anyways....long story short everything is done and she sounds awesome. No leaks, the gaskets were good. its ALOT LOUDER NOW. There is no longer 2 cats right after the manifolds. (then it HAS to be loud) I'll try to get a clip. He has the GMMG exhuast already on it. Real slick. A little raspy (might put high flow cats on to lower rasp) but at WOT it sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I will post pictures once my buddy uploads and sends them too me. We had alot of fun!

kick ass! the pacesetter's were really easy to intall on Jeff's car...but he had said that getting the stock exhaust manifold and stuff off was kindof a *****....but that's cool...the GMMG exhaust is a TON OF $$ but sounds amazing!!! very sweet lookin the way it wrap's around and stuff too!1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

yeah the stock manifolds are just so damn big, especially with those heat sheilds (cut your hands up bad) But slowly but surley we got them off. The pacesetters allowed SO MUCH ROOM that it took up maybe 5 minutes to bolt everything back up and attacthed the plugs and put on the Y pipe. Hahahaha. The LS1 engine bay is just soooooo full of wires etc. But it's an amazing engine. Half way through me and my buddy were like wow....i wish this was a 67 ' camaro so we could have like 3 feet of room on each side with a whopping total of like 3 hoses and a few wires. hahaha. anyways it was great experience!!

I would love to do something like that to my V6. . . Free up some decent power, don't they! Anyway, it's great to hear that! I can't wait to hear a clip!Nick H.

unfortunately on our 3.4L's, the power wouldn't even be noticable.Originally posted by 06camarodudeI would love to do something like that to my V6. . . Free up some decent power, don't they! Anyway, it's great to hear that! I can't wait to hear a clip!
already researched it.

Ill post one up with pictures soon ASAP. hahaa....as for LT on a v6..i dunno if thatll do much. Tear. But if not for the performance then for the looks, Especially coated because they are shiny and beautiful!!

i think its pretty common that getting the factory stuff out turns out being harder than getting the new stuff in.-Joel

Brian posted a vid of a 6 with Pacesetters the other day. I'd like to ask the guy if he saw any performance benefit. In any case, they do look great and sound even better!Originally posted by BlackbirdWs6zzzyeah it definitly sounds mean. has some rasp but when you WOT, it's like satan screaming in pain! I don't see why you wouldn't gain performance from going from a factory manifold to aftermarket but the sound in itself is worth IMO.Doing less with more

we're talking gains of like 5-10hp on the 3.4L v6. The exhaust isn't the choke point of the 3.4L, it's the intake plenum and the heads. If you improve both of those, then the headers would be more beneficial.- Brian Meissen
