  • Throttlebody?

I wanted to get some idea of whether or not I should get a new TB. I've got an LT1 and all of my mods are mild, but I plan on doing at least a cam and maybe heads in the future. Also 52mm or 58mm?

And while I'm seeking advice, what about 1.6:1 rockers? Would I see any benefit from them?

52 mm. 58 requires intake porting I believe. And if you havent got a lot done I think the 58 mm can actually hurt you.

totally depends on if its a restriction or not..

if its not causing a pressure drop across it, there is no point to get a new/bigger one.

are you seeing your MAP decrease significantly with RPM?

I also have a functional ram air system, logic tells me that a bigger throttlebody would mean more air?

not necesarilly, if its not a restriction, going bigger wont help. In fact, it will actually hurt drivablility at low throttle positions..

A 52mm will give you a nice gain since i think the stock is 47 or 48mm. not sure. It all depends on how big you wanna go. 58mm might be overkill. you will need a chip to get the full gain whether you decide on a 52 or 58.

58 is for big motors with big air needs, 52, 54 is bout as big u wanna go with amild motor. and 1.6 RR with the cam is a must itll help a bunch esp if u put a good set of heads on there.

Would the 1.6 help before the cam?
